Another month has come and I am glad to say I had another loss this month!

- Thighs – 63 cm -6 cm
- Upper Arms – 35 cm -5 cm

Total loss 18.5 cm ( 7.2 in)
It was a rocky April and I didn’t work out as much as I wanted to but I was extremely good the last couple weeks. I had a gain in the middle of the month that saw me go up to 103.5kg but thankfully I was able to lose the weight I gained and a little bit more. Using MFP has been a great experience and I greatly recommend it. I was able to make a lot of new friends. It’s always such a comfort to know you are sharing your journey with others that understand what you’re going through. It also keeps me accountable and that is a huge plus for me.
While the weight loss wasn’t huge numbers and I still didn’t manage to get under 100kg I did lose a lot of cms/inches all over my body. I am able to fit into smaller wardrobe pieces I haven’t worn for years which made me giddy with joy! I realized a couple days ago I was able to zip up a size 44 raincoat I had bought when I was a size 48 hoping I could fit into it eventually. Well, now I can! It’s still a little tight at the hips but it zipped up and that to me is another small non-scale victory.
I started the Couch to 5K program yesterday using the app on my phone and it went very well. I was very surprised when it was over and thought it could of definitely been longer. So I continued jogging and brisk walking all the way back home from the park even after the program had ended for the day. So I think that was a brilliant start!
We went for a hike this morning that saw us go through a little over 8km of forest and country side. It was another beautiful day and thankfully we were able to enjoy it before it got ridiculously hot. I had my husband take a picture of me and then I realized I could compare it with the picture he took of me when I first began this journey back in September of last year.
On the left is a picture of me trying to hike up that tiny hill. I was about to collapse probably! The picture on the right is of me this morning hiking without a care in the world! I love how my new body has found a strength it didn’t know it had. I always find myself wanting to do more and not complaining about how hard or how long it’s taking to finish. I surprise myself with how positive I am currently. I think the biggest obstacle to me losing weight before had been my negativity. I complained about everything and didn’t give anything a chance. It’s amazing how your mind has to make that change in order to change the physical you.
Well that is my progress for the month of April. I will continue doing the Couch to 5K program as it runs for about 9 weeks and keep you posted on how that goes. Also doing a mini challenge for the month with a few folks in the MFP forums to lose 8lbs this May. So will try my very best to complete that.
