These have seen better days…

18 Jan

seenbetterdaysMy poor trainers have seen better days. I got these last year when they were shiny and white. Now they are ripped, dirty and very worn down. No one can say I didn’t put in the time! I went for another jog out in the snow today. It was lovely until I got to the park. Some of the roads weren’t cleared so there was about a foot of snow to jog through. My left knee became a bit wobbly  from the slipping and sliding and it began to hurt quite a bit. I ended up walking a lot more than jogging once I made it to the cleared areas. By the time I rounded the lake I couldn’t jog anymore and I was forced to brisk walk home – well as fast as I could anyway since a lot of the snow on the streets became a slush of snow mud! I could feel the pain getting stronger with every step and the fear of slipping and making this worse reemerged. I stretched out my leg a bit and soldiered on though! Uff! No DVD workout today (yay!).

  • Time: 74 mins
  • Distance: 7.11 km
  • Calories Burned: 669

Winter Jogging Fun2When I got home my knee made a strange popping noise. It’s still painful but I hope it’s nothing serious. I would hate to have an injury now!

One more thing:

Dear Aunt Flo,

YOU SUCK.

Sincerely,

Womankind

You are a trooper. It’s fun and a different challenge to run in the snow. I guess you might need new kicks. I tend to run mine to almost nothing but, that has more to do with me being a tight wad. And from a guy’s perspective I am not a fan of that aunt either…hehe

Yeah, I think sometime next year I will have to look into a new pair. These were an absolutely great buy though and I hate to part with them. Will use them until my toes shoot out of the front mesh-which is already ripping quite a bit..lol and no one likes that damn Aunt!

Oh no, I hope you aren’t injured! But hey, you powered through the snow.

It seems to be a little better now, thanks :) Maybe it’s just a matter of doing this more often and getting more used to it.

It’s a sign of real use! Mine are all unfortunately still bright and shiny…and I’m way to wussy to run in the snow!
