I found this at the side of the road as I did my workout today. A deer foot. I found that so strange. I do live in an area where there is seasonal hunting but I always figured the hunters took the whole deer and pulled it apart someplace else not left parts of the animal by the side of a big road. Weird. Maybe a dog lost his chew toy?
I’ve been doing very well since I last posted. I’ve found that eating after a fast day has not only become easier but I feel less emotionally hungry than before. I have been working out and eating well, sticking to portion sizes and not resorting to second helpings. I give myself more time to feel real hunger when I think I need to eat and I have actually chosen pretty good meals. I know I can eat anything on my feed days, including whatever amount of unhealthy food I want, but I find I don’t even crave it. The last time I had chocolate I only tasted the first bite! Eating the rest of it was almost moot as all I tasted was sugar and the euphoria I used to get from it became so subdued.
The last time went grocery shopping we only needed a few items as I knew I had some days that didn’t require cooking and the cashier looked at us and said ‘that’s all?’ I nodded..yeah..usually our cart was filled…now..about 10 items in there at most. My husband has also been eating less and has lost a few kilos, feels better and his skin has improved. I’m so proud of him for really sticking to his guns and not letting me sabotage him. Because you know I try! I don’t mean to but we have been each other’s enablers for about a decade and that is a tough habit to break.
I made an eggplant curry yesterday and it was delicious! I had it with couscous for lunch and then with basmati rice for dinner. I still have leftovers and that will probably be my meal for tomorrow too! Super spicy, full or garlic and delicious flavor. You might not want to be around me today..or for the next few days! It was also very low on calories. I will share the recipe soon.
My workout today:
- Nordic Walking (Some jogging mixed in)
- Time: 105 mins
- Distance: 10.04 km
- Calories Burned: 1170
I went a different route this time and I wasn’t really into it. I walked steadily for 5km and back but there were too many cars, trucks and people with aggressive dogs. Also, when it’s a straight road it seems never ending, specially coming back home when you can see your apartment building in the distance and your feet are screaming bloody murder and you cant. seem. to. reach. it. Drives me bonkers. I think it would work best for a jog because the road is well maintained and cleaned. Perhaps another day I will go there again. I wasn’t expecting to go so far that I burned so many calories today. Being my fasting day I didn’t want to make it even worse by burning off a ridiculous amount but it happened anyway! Keeping myself hydrated until dinner time! Till next time folks..keep it going

My family hunts so I can offer explanation. It’s very hard to get rid of the bits of the deer you don’t use: feet, bones, head, etc… and unless you take the time to bury them deep other animals are likely to find them and feast on them. My dad buried the carcass of a deer once, mainly bones, and we woke to find a rib cage in our yard! Yuck! When you see the feet lying around like this, that’s probably what happened.
Well that makes sense! Thanks for that
