I decided I need a Dirndl for Oktoberfest this year. Every year I say I will get one but I never really go through with it. Obviously, those dresses can be a bit expensive and specially more if I have to find one in my size. I thought I could find a decent one for a reasonable price this year and then next year have one made specially for me. So I went to downtown determined to find one.
I must have gone to at least 5 stores to find a dress. Some were gorgeous but all in tiny itty bitty sizes. Then I went to other stores where the dresses looked fit for Carnival and were ridiculously over priced. It didn’t help that it was raining, sometimes pouring down hail followed by five minutes of sunshine. I honestly don’t know what’s up with this weather at the moment. I got soaked under a stone ledge that was collecting water and decided to come down just as I stood underneath..lol I was so over this dress hunt hell! I will just order one via Amazon and stop the bleeding.
After failing to find a dirndl, I shopped around some more. Then, after walking all over town for over 2 hours I decided to get a bite to eat. It turned out that no matter where I wanted to stop at, it was ridiculously full and there was no place to sit. Add some social anxiety, hunger and tiredness to the mix and I got so annoyed that I just went to Starbucks. It was also too full to even find a seat so I got a Chai tea latte and a turkey cheddar wrap to go.
It was the tiniest thing! The picture added 10lbs to the wrap because seriously..that was the size of an enchilada! lol I had to eat it while waiting for my train home. Since there was no place to sit inside the Cafe and everywhere outside was wet and gross. Ugh! What a day. Then I come home and look up the calories for that tiny thing and I’m still in shock. For that amount of calories I could have eaten a delicious and filling home cooked meal. It would have been nice if they had printed that on the wrapper. Here I thought I was making a smart choice because the latte alone was over 200 calories and it turns out all the walking I did those two hours were basically moot when I ate that for lunch. Two words : Never again!
